Kamakura “Kotori Bunko” summer collection: The picture books of Ocean 

The summer vacation is coming! Camping in the mountains, swimming in the sea, fireworks festivals and summer festivals, people enjoy these activities.

The coast of Yuigahama Beach and Takikaza, which has been popular as a beach since the Meiji Period, is a fashionable destination of beach culture for any age. In Kamakura, “Kotori Bunko” (ことり文庫) which is a lovely book store.

The owner is Ms. Kawasaki Fumi will introduce many picture books regards ocean.

In 2006, “Kotori Bunko” opened in Setagaya Tokyo, moved to Kamakura in 2013.

From Enoshima Kamakura Station to Enoshi Station, get off at Gokurakuji Station. The signboard of “Kotori Bunko” looks like welcome you. When you walk up the stairs where picture books are lined up, a warm and peaceful space is there.

The bookshelf filled with picture books and miscellaneous goods selected by Mr. Fumi. It’s a space that you will not get boring. Children can read books indoor or and play in the terrace.

Select the picture books by seasonality is special idea by Ms. Fumi. She says” I value these children’s books. I encourage people come here with family, the shining wave and the sun will create memories for the children.”
