Glimpse

It’s now been around a month since I’ve arrived. I wrote this post last weekend but I couldn’t post it without a proper internet connection. Here’s a small snapshot of what I’ve experienced so far.

I haven’t been taking nearly enough pictures as I should have but we’ve definitely been travelling around quite a bit. Two weeks ago, the other interns and I went to a maid café at Akihabara, got drunk at a cosplay bar, and spent the night sleeping at an internet café.

I can’t say that I look forward to doing all these things again but it was definitely a unique experience. Travelling around the major tourist spots in Tokyo is fun but you get accustomed to these places pretty quickly.

Last weekend began with going to a small underground venue called the UFO Club. We saw the Oshiri Pen Penz , an “experimental garage rock” band— and probably the most bizarre music performance I will ever have seen in my life.

The following day was spent at Hakone, a mountainous region in Japan known for its hot springs.

These pictures are just here to showcase a glimpse of what I’ve been doing on my weekends so far. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get into the habit of taking even more pictures in the future.

While there are many other things I would like to write about from my time here, I don’t really want to include everything in just one post.

Until next time.
