As one of the most gay-friendly cities in South America, visitors can sample the best of the Argentine capital’s thriving nightlife scene on this bi-weekly pub crawl.
Buenos Aires is one of the most gay-friendly cities in South America, with a tolerant attitude and thriving nightlife scene. For gay travellers to the Argentine capital, one of the best ways to sample the city’s varied nightlife is to spend a night on the Buenos Aires Out and About Pub Crawl.
Held Thursday and Saturday each week, the crawl visits some of the most gay-friendly bars and clubs in the city. Registration begins at 10 pm on both nights at Dekk Hollywood (Gorriti 5516, Palermo Hollywood; 4040-1333) with free tapas, beer and wine.
The pub crawl commences at 11 pm, visiting three bars on the way and ending the night at a club (transportation between each location is provided). On Thursday nights, the final stop is Glam Disco, while on Saturday it is Human Disco — with access to the VIP areas at both. A highlight on Thursday nights is the drag show at Sitges Gay Bar.
Upon arrival at each bar, participants are each given a shot and enjoy discounted drinks. Entry to the clubs is free and pub crawlers do not have to wait in line.
The Pub Crawl’s friendly staff speaks Spanish and English, resulting in a great mix of locals and visitors. For those interested in joining, the crawl costs 120 Argentinean pesos, and reservations can be made on the website.
