It’s February!

And just like that, it’s February!

I’ve been meaning to post something here, but never really had the push to finish. January was a loaded month, as Lhiza and I went out of the country twice: Japan and Thailand. That pretty much shaped all other activities and kept us busy.

Japan

This was the first time that we went out of the country for the Christmas break, and Lhiza and I would be doing more of it. It was a great way to end the year and prepare for the coming year. And Japan was an awesome destination to do that.

We spent a solid 2 weeks, spending the first half with each other and the rest with Lhiza’s family. Lhiza and I actually did a lot: traveled to Osaka, Tokyo, then Toyama. Went to landmarks and food stops. And experienced riding a bullet train, ski, and a Japanese temple in New Year. Good thing we had Thirdy to cover the action!

We were also able to eat at Sukiyabashi Jiro. The Chu-toro was divine. This was at the Roppongi branch, as we couldn’t get a reservation at the main branch in Ginza. One more reason to go back to Japan in the future!

Thailand

We then went to Thailand, first to Pattaya for a gathering with my workmates, and then to Bangkok with Aiko. The protest was in full swing in Bangkok, thankfully it was relatively safe for us. I felt that we didn’t give the trip enough time though, as things felt hurried. We should fix that in July when we head back to Thailand again.

38th Monthsary

We spent our 38th monthsary with Lhiza’s former teammates at Red Garlic in Bonifacio Global City. One of them got married the weekend before, which Lhiza and I were supposed to attend, but didn’t as it was held in Tacloban. I thought the wedding wasn’t pushing through, but I figured it was good that they did. Must have been quite an experience.

February

If January was busy, I imagine February would be more so. I call February the perfect storm, as there are 3 straight weeks of obligation: monthsary on the 7th, valentines on the 14th, and Lhiza’s special day on the 21st. All these dates fall on a Friday. We are dialing down on things though, as we have a wedding to prepare. More updates on that soon.

21-ish months to go. Let’s go February!
