It's currently rainy season in Japan. This is considered as the most depressing season in Japan since there are many days of all day raining and high humidity for about a month. But let’s think about something very special we can enjoy during rainy season and this is an useful guide to plan your day-trip to city of Kamakura in Kanagawa prefecture which can probably turn the rainy day to the most amazing one 🙂

As all we know, Kamakura has numbers of beautiful temples which are known for Hydrangea flowers “Ajisai” while some of them hold hydrangea festival and are very popular destination during rainy season.

We would like to introduce some of temples with beautiful scenary of hydrangea flowers and the best time to visit is mid June to mid July.

Meigetsu-in Temple

Hase Temple

Take a local train from Kamakura to Enoshima and visit Enoshima Aquarium!

Visiting aquarium is a great idea when it’s rainning and Enoshima Aquarium which located right next to the beach has 12 different section with over 500 different fish and species including the dolphin pool where dolphin show takes and the beautiful Jelly Fish exhibition which is extremely popular from visitors.

To access Kamakura from Tokyo, the easiest way would be by JR Shonan-Shinjuku line from Shinjuku/Shibuya station or by JR Yokosuka line from Tokyo/Shinagawa station and both takes around 1 hour.
