Make a Wish for LOVE! 3 Miracle Bridges in Northern Japan

There are a numbers of spots in Japan where people believe that your dream might come true if you visit there and pray. The spots for “Enmusubi” which means “Love-knot” or “Marriage tie” are very popular among Japanese women and many of them travel long way to visit some famous “Enmusubi” spot which are believed by many others that those places have miracle power for your love to be succeeded.

Today, we are going to introduce three bridges in Japan for “Enmusubi” which are located in Matsushima Island in Miyagi Prefecture.

1. Togetsukyo (渡月橋)

The Togetsukyo bridge is known for dissolution of bad relationships and believed that you can break off relations with evil fate destinies.

To get there, take a walk through the small path…



After a short walk, here is a red bridge in front called Togetsukyo.


2. Fukuura Bashi (福浦橋)

The second bridge called Fukuura Bashi is believed that it can draw good opportunity for you.The bridge is popular from singles who are willing to find their life time partners and prayers are supposed to cross the bridge alone.

It may be bring you a chance of wonderful meetings!

Opening hours: from March to October(8:00am-5:00pm)

from November to February(8:00am-4:30pm)

Admission fee: Adult(JPY200-) Child(JPY100-)



The bridge is 250 m long which connects Matsushima Island and Fukuura Island. The view from the bridge is another amazing point!

3. Sukashi Bashi (透かし橋)

The last bridge is called Sukashi Bashi or sometimes called Enmusubi Bridge which leads you to Godaidou Temple,which is a small temple hall on an islet just next to the pier. This lattice bridge is know as the “decision bridge” where couples cross it deliberately to look forward into the future with each other.

Your love bond should get tighter after crossing the bridge!
