3. Riding the Fugan Suijo line around Kansui park

Sightsee Kansui Park in a totally different way. Enjoy a ride in the futuristic boats “Sora” the first solar-powered passenger ship in Japan and “Momiji” a fully electric boat. First started operations in 2009, the boats travel roughly 7km from Fugan Canal in Kansui Park to the bayside Iwase neighborhood. The route takes you through the Nakajima Locks along the way.

Nakajima Locks is unique as it uses the same system as that of the Panama Canal. Passengers can enjoy a 10 minute stop as you get to explore the control room of this historic facility. Once you are back on the boat, you get to experience the “water elevator” of the Nakajima Locks.

Recently this has become a popular way to enjoy the cherry blossom viewing as you travel along the water.
