Hakkaisan is one of the most famous Sake in Japan. From Uonuma Niigata prefecture.
八海山と言えば、日本で最も有名な日本酒のひとつです。新潟県南魚沼産。
As you know, Japanese Sake is made from rice and koji , aspergillus oryzae.
Niigata is famous for their great Rice, and of course Sake from them.
These region has much snow in every winter so that they can use as refrigerator.
Hakkaisan has their original Snow Room just for Sake and they use them a whole year.
「雪室」とは文字通り雪の部屋。
冬に積もった雪を冷蔵庫代わりに、1年間使用するとのこと。雪国に生まれた仙人の知恵。
