About the place
Fuji Festival is the biggest summer event in the city of Fuji, held annually on the fourth Sunday of July, with the main venues at Central Park and on Aoba-dori. People come in great numbers to experience the wide range of events that include a "Princess Kaguya Contest" to choose the best Princess Kaguya, a people's dance performed by over 2,000 local citizens, and Princess Kaguya picture scrolls. For the grand finale, a fireworks display of roughly 4,000 launches paints the night sky with giant flowers.
