Want to catch the Shinkansen and enjoy a day trip away but on a budget?

Enjoy Ise Shrine, located in the city of Ise, Mie Prefecture of Japan. The Shrine consists of two parts, Naiku (inner Shrine) which is dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami and Geku (Outer Shrine) is dedicated to Toyo’uke-no-Omikami. The total area is roughly the same size as Paris with more than 1500 rituals performed yearly for the prosperity of the Imperial Family, Peace for the World and huge harvest.

There are shops around the Ise Shrine, where tradition Japanese sweets, Ise Udon, Oyster and Matsuzaka beef are served.

It is a good chance to try the “Akafuku mochi for 210 yen”,”croquette for 100 yen” and “Ise udon for 530 yen”.

Normally price for a return trip by Shinkansen from Shinagawa to Nagoya will cost JPY22580 but by purchasing a return “Day Trip to Nagoya” ticket from JR Tokaido travel agent will only cost JPY16000. This ticket includes a JPY3000 coupon to be used at the Tokai Kiosk in Nagoya station. You will need to be up early to catch the Shinkansen but it will leave you plenty of time to sightsee Nagoya.
