Serving the city of Taipei and the surrounding region in the northern part of Taiwan, Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) handled more than 35.8 million passengers in 2014. It is the bigger and busier of the city's two airports. About 50 carriers fly from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, including China Airlines, EVA Air, Tigerair Taiwan, TransAsia Airways and V Air, which all use the airport as a hub. Passengers can fly non-stop between TPE and destinations in Asia, Oceania, Europe and North America. The airport has two passenger terminals connected by people movers and two runways. Terminal 1, which is modeled after Washington Dulles International Airport's main terminal, has 18 gates. Terminal 2 has 20 gates. Passenger services include retail stores (including duty-free shopping), restaurants, cafes, bars, a medical clinic, luggage storage facilities, banks, showers and a business center.
