Opened in 1994 to relieve crowding at Osaka International Airport, Kansai International Airport (KIX) is located within the Osaka Prefecture municipalities of Izumisano, Sennan and Tajiri. The airport served about 19.4 million passengers in 2014. A hub for All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines and Peach, a total of about 55 carriers operate at the airport. Passengers can fly non-stop on scheduled flights to destinations in Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Airport amenities and services include restaurants, retail stores, baggage storage and wrapping, ATMs, currency exchanges, a prayer room, lounges, showers, meeting rooms, free WIFI internet and internet kiosks.
