To commemorate the 120th Anniversary of the Shinetsu Honsen opening and the other stations along the railway line, “Echigo Tokimeki Resort Setsugekka” will be doing day trips to help celebrate.
“Echigo Tokimeki Resort SETSUGEKKA” will be operating one way from Joetsu Myoko station to Niigata station on 23rdNovember 2017. This will be the first the “Echigo Tokimeki Resort SETSUGEKKA” will travelling to Niigata station for the first time otherwise the train operates twice daily on the weekends from Joetsu Myoko station to Itoigawa station.
“Echigo Tokimeki Resort SETSUGEKKA” gives passengers the perfect view of the ocean and mountains as you travel in their large windowed carriages. With only two carriages, it seats 37 passengers quite comfortably.
Passengers can enjoy their traditional Japanese Kappo meals provided in a three layer lacquered boxes supplied by Tsurugiya from Itoigawa city. Perfect for the viewing of the natural landscape.
On 23rd November, “Echigo Tokimeki Resort SETSUGEKKA” will depart from Joetsu Myoko station at 12.15pm and arrive at Niigata station at 15.27pm.
Prices start from JPY15,500 yen for adults and JPY12,300 for children and release date will be announced on East JR Niigata branch website.
