Aomori Prefecture is located at the north end of the main land. Its appealing character consists of rich nature, fresh foods and traditional culture. Out of them, the author highlights places where you can’t see such a thing except Aomori. Fortunately, now you can go to Aomori just for about 3 hours by Shinkansen (Tokyo Station to Shin-Aomori Station.)

Hirosaki Park (弘前公園)

Hirosaki Park is mainly famous for 2 things: Hirosaki Castle and Cherry blossom (Sakura). The Sakura season is between the end of April and the beginning of May. The park has been continually in the news partly because the Hirosaki Castle has been moved temporarily. It is uncommon to move castles but it was found its base kept a little unstable. It will take about 10 years to reinforce it. But in a mean, it is valuable to see the place it had been at and it will be back.
